Prompt #2 Entry for the Banana Blog
I am one of three children raised in a military family. My dad even though the Korean War was long over when we were born, he never left the military in his mind. We had many nights of standing at attention and listening to lectures that lasted over 2 hours long. He made all our decisions and his opinions about what we did and who we friended reigned over ours.

It wasn’t until we moved out that we had to learn to survive in the real world and unfortunately make some poor decisions. But the one thing that he taught us was to never make decisions based on your personal feelings. Use your head and apply logic to any all decisions. To this day, I make a point to do this as time will permit. I have taught my children this rule of thumb but without the force that I was dealt. While I know that parenting can be difficult, I am grateful for all the guidance that was imparted on me in my youth.
