All In All

Psalm 77:14 NIV

You are the God of great wonders! You demonstrate your awesome power among the nations.

Sometimes God seems so big to me that’s it hard to comprehend His power and His love. That’s why His Word is so important to me. In it I learn about who He is, the world He created, and the people He chose to teach us more about Himself and His ways by the example of their own lessons and lives.

I’ll never fully understand everything in its pages. But every time I read it, I see something new: a new revelation, a new lesson, another example of God’s power and love. He reaches out to me with an affirmation of the direction He is choosing for my life. In its pages, He teaches me, comforts me, rebukes me, strengthens me, and transforms me and shows me how to worship Him.

Prayer:

Father, as I reflect on Your love and Your Word, help me to remember that although You are powerful, you are also reachable. I ask this in the name of Jesus.

God is:

Powerful enough to create the universe but caring enough to provide for our needs.

Powerful enough to part waters, yet gentle enough to wipe away our tears.

Powerful enough to perform miracles, yet gentle enough to remind us that we are one.
