Forgotten World

We used to worry
Once upon a time
About this planet of ours
Not covering her with grime

We started to recycle
to care about our waste
We changed our way of life
and still she falls from grace

There are holes in the ozone
and oil in her seas
Her residents are disappearing
endangered species and bees

We need a special happening
something to wake us up
Before it is all gone
and pollution runs amok

Lets remember our dear planet
this place that we call home
for there is no other place to go
no other planet to roam
