Just a poem

I thought I saw you the other day
I didn't know what I would say
I looked down
You were walking past
There was a lump in my throat
I felt as if I might choke
My mind raced searching for words
Something to soften the awkward moment
When I looked up you were gone
At first I was relieved
No confrontation no explanation
No need to devise a defense
As I walked on I soon felt sad
What a dear friendship we used to have
I miss you
