I need to feel the salty air -

I need to feel the salty air
Once again feel the ocean breeze
Walk along the sandy beach -
For life has brought me to my knees.

A heart attack, they said;
Not the first he's had -
How in the world do you face it
When your only son may be dead?

Yet he lives on - in pain -
Each day taken on with hope
That he will get better, live
And Dear God, let me cope.

I need to feel the salty air
Mixed with tears I can't contain
A time to be born, and a time to die -
Keeps echoing in my brain..

The ocean holds the secrets
As the tides move in and out -
That love can last forever;
That's what it's all about.

I need to feel the salty air
Once more before I go home;
I need reassurance of eternity
As the ocean claims its own.
