The innocent tragedies of war and their struggles
The children are hungry
They speak with nails in their mouths
They conquer
Strange lands
With vacant eyes
Oblivious to their pain
It’s been so long roaming
And scrounging for sustenance
Beautiful eyes
Surveyors of the ultimate harvest
In their hearts
A dream
Drowned out by a unanimous grumble
Of enlarged abdomens
A deafening melody played by so many
Their bounty enough for so few
In a world of milk and honey
That runneth over
The dream should be a reality…
Yet
The children
Are
Hungry
