These are the tales of my homeless experiences as told in story format.
Welcome to My Camp....

Welcome and thank you for stopping by! I have no doubt that you will find these stories both, entertaining as well as informational.

I have always wanted to write a book about the time I spent homeless. I left my father's home in upstate New York at the age of fourteen, never to return. As a result of my youthful foolishness, I spent eighteen years of my life wandering the country, fourty-two states in all. Some of my travels dealt with the unusual. Other times I was put in harms way and faced the possibility of death should I make the wrong decisions. Other times were quite humorous.

My goal in this ongoing project is to capture all of those life experiences and epiphanies along the way and transpose them into a series of short stories with the ultimate goal being that of taking all of these stories and compiling a book of them.

I warn you now that much of what I will write about is not for the faint of heart. There is drug and alcohol abuse, crime, many times hurting others to either get ahead or out of a jam. Much of what I have to walk through and face in myself will no doubt prove extremely difficult for me; I will face the demons of my past as I reach towards my goals of the future.

Today my life is dramatically different and I say with much gratitude that I am happy. I like who I have become as I deal with and put to death who I was. And to this end I thank my Lord and my God, Jesus Christ.

Today I am a writer. I am chasing a dream I have had for as long as I can remember. And just as is with any writer, I feel I have something to say to others, something important. I know in my heart that I have the power, today, to bring hope to another who is struggling and on the brink of self-destruction. Armed with one of the most powerful mediums known to the human race, I have something to say....

Come, pull yourself up a log at my campfire while I stoke the flames. Go ahead, grab a bit of coffee; it's all I drink these days. Yes, smoking is just fine here in my camp; mind if I join you? Ah, there, the fire's burning bright again.

I have a tale to tell if you'll listen; I present you with, 'The Memoirs of a Tramp'....
