A very unique mouse
There is a critter in my house,
And it’s no ordinary mouse.
He eats dog biscuits
And gnaws through plastic
For a tiny piece of bread.
He’s not getting into my bed
For an afternoon nap,
Or to try on a cap
For today’s big game.
It’s all the same.
He’s no ordinary mouse.
He wears only a blouse,
A pair of pants and some shoes.
He says ‘hello’ to Mother Goose
As he scurries down the street
To catch up with Pete
At the doors of the baseball stadium.
The pitcher strikes out some,
But the game was nearing defeat
As the mouse jumped from his seat
And raced to the mound
To pitch the last, final round.
The crowd roared, "Hail to the mouse!
That’s no ordinary mouse!"
And erected a statue for that critter in my house.
