A poem that I wrote on May 8,1999 about my husband of 14 years.
His Love

When at first he appeared in my sight,
his remarkable brown eyes emitted
such a spectacular love light
causing fear to grip me so intensely
I desperately fought to overcome
the compulsion to take off in flight.

His advances I tried venomously to slight
but his love was too strong to fight
The most intimate part of me sensed
that he was the one who would
always love me with all his might
and lovingly be there to hold me tight.

Whenever he is near me
my heart soars higher than a kite
and my heart has never been so bright
so to him I have loyally pledged
my eternal plight.

By the glow of many romantic moonlights
I have watched him sleep a peaceful sleep
and think to myself how very lucky I am
that God above has allowed me to sleep
next to the most wonderful man every night.
