Personal betterment
Part 1

You slapped my face though I'd done no wrong
You left my face warm and stinging
and me full of anger

You have made me resentful
Of everything you represent
You have made me want to hit
You have made me like you

You left the room without saying a word
My sister and I only argues over a bandana
You could have asked us to stop
But you only know how to hit

I will not become you
I will be better than you
I have changed
You were given a chance but chose not to take it
I will solve my problems without violence
You have become valueless to me
I will become

Part 2

I have become generous
because you pinched every penny
I have become strong
because you tried to make me weak

I have become supportive of my family
because you never did
I have learned to be confident in myself
because you hid behind your strength

I have learned to love myself
because you never did
I have become a healer
because of the scars you left

I have become the person I am today
because of you
I am thankful of that but
I still wish it could have been different
