This is how sorrow feels-alas that I am not eloquent enough to express it well in a poem
Will I ever see again,
The golden light of day?
Will I ever hear again,
The sound of stirring music?
Will I ever smell again,
The scent of honeysuckle?
Will I ever taste again,
The flavor of an apple?
Will I ever feel again,
The cool, clean touch of water?

I am an angel chained to earth,
A breeze trapped in a box.
I am a ray of light smothered by darkness,
A hawk who has been blinded
Will I ever live again,
The life I had before?
