journey into grief
It started with shock
Than progressed to disbelief
Sprinkles of insanity
And also tides of grief

It turned into darkness
And a mental fight with life
But I was still a daughter,
And I was still a wife.

It slowly evolved to aggression,
All the blame on the deceased
Then, it drowned into depression
A disease, from which it's hard to find release.

It melted into a chronic slump,
Suffering from lack of motivation,
A plunging self-esteem and,
A war with self-degradation.

It causes constant strife within me,
My future,cobwebs of the unknown,
But, I still have my friends and family,
And I still have a few places to call home.
