This is a poem about what teeth must think when we brush them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is a picture of a boy with a mouthful of teeth.
Toothy Shimmy
In and out,
Up and down,
Around about
I shimmy.
I slide across,
Dart in there.
Glide it about
And all around.
Sometimes I wonder
What teeth might think
If they had the chance
To give their thoughts.
When I danced
My Maypole dance,
Would they giggle
And plead, “Stop tickling?"
Or would they wish to cavort
In a toothy shimmy
'Round and 'round
Inside my mouth?
I think probably
It would be
That they’d merely smile
And quickly give a "Thanks.”
