Needs a better title
She views her scars without alarm
And bears her pain with gentle grace
She takes from those who brought her harm
No ceaseless shame or held disgrace

She hears the voices from her past
Yet claims her choices as her own
Chooses that which yet will last
And reaps the good of sorrow sown

Seeks the light within the dark
Finds the calm within the storm
Took the blow and bears the mark
Feels the cold, but still is warm

With reason full and even more
To burn with bitterness and strife
She lets go by what’s gone before
And seeks to live a joyful life

Her step is soft; her laugh is real
Her vision clear and bright
She speaks her heart with honest zeal
To be near her is pure delight
