Re: Declined Claims

Dear Sirs,

Please be advised of several issues that have been incorrectly interpreted by your claims agents. Failure in interpreting the following described medical procedures has caused serious financial loss to me and my husband.

You have apparently not been advised of the special medical benefit of the external honey-balm. My oldest sister’s second husband is a distributor for Honey Bee Miracle Honey-Balm. His administrative duties make him privileged to a number of studies which attest to the healing powers of the honey-balm when it is spread onto the body. It is specifically therapeutic for severe sunburn.

My husband and I are charter members of Crestaway Nudist Community. While visiting the community for an extended week-end, I obtained severe sunburn over areas of my body that are normally exposed only when we visit the community. Anxious to obtain relief from the pain, I purchased a gallon of the honey-balm. It is my desire that you recognize the medical value of this treatment and reimburse me for the $367.00 spent for the product.

Please be advised that we seriously observe all instructions regarding dosage and application of all medicines. We were particularly careful in the application of the honey-balm, which requires it to be applied by hand in a massaging motion across the afflicted area. My husband accepted this responsibility seriously and massaged my body with the honey-balm with unusual dedication. I must testify that the honey-balm certainly works. Shortly after the application began, all concern regarding the sunburn soon left my mind.

We are very disappointed that your agents have not recognized the healing and particularly therapeutic effect of the honey-balm. However, we are most concerned that you have refused to recognize the payment to the obstetrician who was engaged because of the resulting pregnancy caused by the honey-balm application procedure. We sincerely believe that the honey-balm is an effective means of relief from the effects of sunburn. Unfortunately, the associated side effects of the application procedure are long-lasting. Nevertheless, we feel that we are justified in the claim for $367.00 for the honey-balm treatment and the $15,263 for doctors and hospital charges for the birth of our daughter, Honey.

Your prompt attention to this matter is critical, for we are scheduled for a vacation in Puerto Vallarta this summer and intend to take a supply of honey-balm for any potential sunburn that may be experienced. I know you will understand the urgency of our request. If we may answer any questions or be of any assistance, please contact us.

Respectfully submitted,

Caroline Marie Simmons
