This is a poem about a flea who resides on a labrador dog named Rover. |
A Flea Named Flake Flake is the flea who resides on dear Rover. He takes off the winter so he can just sleep. Flake never minds Rover's rolls in the clover, For deep into fur Flake will snuggle and creep. Flake takes off the winter so he can just sleep, Planning to doze during cold, northern winds. For deep into fur he will snuggle and creep, Burrowing cozily as he contentedly grins. Planning to doze during cold, northern winds, He yawns, turns over, and sleeps a bit more, Burrowing cozily as he contentedly grins, Wrapped in a fabric of dreams he'll explore. He yawns, turns over, and sleeps a bit more, As outside the snowdrifts pile high in the yard, Wrapped in a fabric of dreams he'll explore. Trust me that sleeping through winter’s not hard. As outside the snowdrifts pile high in the yard, Labrador Rover forgets Flake's still there. Trust me that sleeping through winter’s not hard, When relaxed in a dream, cuddled in dog hair. Labrador Rover forgets Flake's still there. Flake never minds Rover's rolls in the clover. When relaxed in a dream, cuddled in dog hair, Flake is the flea who resides on dear Rover. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
