A very, very short story.
“You are quiet tonight,” he said, “Is something wrong?

“No, I’m fine.”

“I can hear it in your voice, see it in your eyes. You are not saying something. Are things okay at work?”

“Seriously, nothing is wrong. I’ve just been ... thinking.”

“Care to talk about it?”

“No, it’s nothing.”

“You sure? I'll listen.”

“Maybe later. This isn’t a good time.”

“Well, later then. Whenever you feel like it.”

Her voice was soft,and a little sad.
“Maybe I’ll just put it in a letter.”
