this remains one of my favorite pieces.
boundless

melissa ethridge's voice is muffled
yet i know i know this song
i tap my feet
so far away i could
touch
the stranger next to me.

being for just seconds
i've watched you
as though a star in a silent movie
i've memorized your eyes
since they're the only things
that will ever love me.

we listen to the unchained waltz
where we're bounded by grace, nothing and everything else.
confusion as i feel, withers
on the day-old wonder bread, and
curdled 2% milk,
the open-handed smile,
the carousel in central park
playing the theme song.
while the two dollar whore earns her living
the parking meter clicks violation.
i've always wondered
were the blemish was
in the brady bunch.
