In a Daze


for "Stormy's poetry newsletter & contest"  [ASR] due July 2, 2004


Looking through Monday morning haze,
Bright sunlight silent, burning night.

Mistress of sleep barring my gaze,
My soul still clinging to her sight.

Dream tainted mind, trying to wake,
Trying to face the light; so bright.

With hands, this haze I cannot shake,
Rubbing eyes in the morning light.

In a daze, dreams are swiftly chased.
