Entry for a contest.

Dear Piano,

I brought you to this desolate place in this dead night to bury you, so that people would not think that i am a nut, seeing me place you in this coffin.

I remember vividly the first time you came into my life, a gift from my grandfather.(On second thoughts it does not seem to be a gift, when you co-erce and cry and make the person give it to you).

Anyway, you know that I did not learn the piano lessons as I did not have enough time to spare for it. So, with this weakness known to everybody, I had hard time giving excuses to friends who wanted to borrow it.

And ofcourse, how could I not regret the only time I ever gave you to a friend of mine.He wanted you as a prop for his concert. He thought that he became an expert after taking a few piano lessons .

He had a sell out crowd after he posted that he was a renowned artist sought after every where and that this place being his place of birth was of a sentimental value to him.

That night was cool, the perfect atmosphere and crowds by the hundreds poured in .He started with fur elise, only a few lines had gone past his fingers and he forgot the remaining lines . He could sense the truth dawning on their faces that they were sold for suckers .

When you were returned to me by him, I could smell the stench of rotten eggs and tomatoes. Then to add injury to insult, I had you in my arms with a clip on my nose and I was sleeping. I had a beautiful Dream, that I was performing live across the statue of liberty and people of every country were applauding me.Me with long black hair swaying from side to side every time I played the keys.

Then I took the final bow, I could hear standing ovation given to me .Then I heard another big sound and I woke up finding half of you between my legs and the other half in my arms and myself on the hard floor.

As I now bury you in this unmarked grave I am overwhelmed with emotion and I want you to know that I love you and I pledge that you will not be replaced with another piece and that there is only place for one in my heart and that it always belongs to you.
