A poem about a shirt.
In eighth grade I had a shirt,
it had a big beautiful rainbow,
now rainbows as you know mean something,
something more then luck and beauty,
the first day I wore that shirt I learned what a rainbow had come to represent,
I was ridiculed for my shirt,
that night I threw it away,
I loved that shirt,
no one ever noticed,
that I wore no rainbow shirt,
but I did,
I loved that shirt,
and it meant so much more than the lack of nudity,
it represented the beauty I saw in nature,
no one ever noticed that they took it away from me,
they only noticed when it meant something to me,
I bought that shirt again,
years later,
I live in it.
