You create contentment within, and no one else can give it to you or take away from that.
Though gone today
you still stay behind
lingering the room
around in my mind

The scent of you
Clouding my head
Trapped in my pillow
Rest with me in bed

Who knew lips precious
Who knew hands clever
Who knew skin perfect
Who knew this ever

Perhaps an end
Ending so quickly
Realizing this
Thoughts hang thickly

Casual can leave
Hands so empty
Absence leaving
Yearning a plenty

Knowing this too
You reveal the flaws
But those imperfections
I look at with awe

Don’t help me up
When I start to fall
Don’t even look twice
When I start to call

‘Cause it’s that fall
teaching the most
happiness in my hands
not yours as the host
