I stopped at the door, know that he was probably on the other side, just wait for me to open it up. He known I would be there. My hand grasped the cold brasy knob and slight turned t it to the right. Then; pushing slight on door I creeped it open just a smidge. In case you wondering a smidge Is less than two inches but more than one inch . My eyes was glued to the ground, where I knowd I’d see him, a black flash of fur darted past my feets. How cold he squish his body between a smidge. Obviously he be on a diet so I ran down hall trying to cut him off at the hallway door too late He darted in-to the living room . Quickly, before my parent discovered he was loose, I ran shut the doors to the living room. My heart raced as I hear me dad in the nexted room. He had sayd numerous times about that he never wanted a cat in the house. LIke me in college and can not taik care of a kiiy whatever?

I heard my dad the telephone. “What the matter honey?” He asked interrupting his telephone conversation to inquire about me intrusion.

“Nothing.” I called backed. With both doors shut, I concentrated on mthe task at hand. Finding my new kitten. I knew I have to tell my Mom Dad soon. They’d begin too notice something different. Keeping my door shut and locked wasn anything knew. My little: sister ad a horribly annoy habit of entering my room when I is out on dates and trying on all my clothes. So, my boy friend had installed a knew door knob which I could lock and I had the key.

“Here kitty, kitty, kitty.” I whispered, no wantmy Dad to hear. He’b be more upset with my stowaway than Mom. Under no circumstances could I let him know about the kitten.

There he was, hiding under the couch I leaned down and stretched my arm under the couch. Groping between the dust bunnies and candy wrappers I stretch my arem as far as it could go. ‘Come her.” I begged.

“What the matter?” It was Dad. He was of the phone. “Noting. I said. My voice muffled from under couch. I can find my shoe. .”

“Have you seen ? I asked him, turning my fae in his direction, my fingers still groping for the soft fur I knew was somewhere under there.

“Which shoes? Yo have so many. Are you talking about your brown boots? Your black flip flops? Or those swaude shoes with no backs?”

“UMMM<. My fingers felt fur and latched on.”the pink sandals Dad, what other shoes wold I be look for? The kitten let out a loud meow that I had to cough loudly. “Dust.’ I offered.

The phone rangs, and he was off to answer it. “Finally.” I said loud to no one in particular. I picked up my kitty and dusted him off. ‘You little trouble maker you.

I knew that I’d have to tell my parents I was harbor a kittn in my room. I just didn’t want to tell them yesterday. Or tomorrow. Or the next day. I rushed down the hall and practically tossed him into my room, slam the door and locked it. I was off to class. Sorry Kovu I whispered.

See ya later. I yelled to my Dad as I walked out the door, waring my brown boots.

Class frug on, it was boring. Sociology was not my favorite subjects. But mostly, I kept thinking of how I is going to tell my parents I had rescued a kitten three weeks ago and more important that I wanted to keep said kitten.

The sociology professor was feeling to well and let us out early, I had decided to run home between class so that I could vist Kovu. I pulled into the driveway notice Dad’s SUV still parked in the drive way. What was he doing home?

I stopped by the kitch to grab a sandwhich, mostly for me but also for Kovu. When I get to my door I hear a voice in my room. These door was unlock.

When I opened the door Dad was on my beds, with Kovu in his lap.
