Poem about pain
The sallow mauve of neglect shot through
With sharp scarlet needles of rage
Writhing round the sickly puce of fear.

Repulsive hues cripple,
Slice my arteries to shreds,
Choke my veins, stain my soul.

Miraculously, my wounds ooze
Unearthly crimson, blending new shades
Of regal purple, strong ebony, living green.

Hideous scars are transfigured into
Deeply defined, intricately cut,
Pulsing tattoos living

On the inner folds of my being,
Transforming agony into
Vivid, self-healing designs.
