the beauty of a nightime scene
I turned off the light
But before retiring for the night
Sat beside the window to see
The beautiful scene before me.

A moonlit stream was passing by
Like a silver ribbon; and the stars in the sky
Were like diamonds sprinkled on a velvet sheet;
I remembered the lamps in a faraway street
From here they looked like pixies' lanterns alight
And elfin sounds broke the silence of the night.

I stepped out in sheer ecstasy
A beam of moonlight enveloped me
Truly, it was a magnificent sight
Such is the magic of moonlight.

Within my heart, I pitied all those
Who missed this sight due to their repose
I lay down in ethereal bliss
And sleep overcame me like an angel's kiss.
