A poem I wrote about War.
War sees no happiness
And pain is not pretty,
With the people you call comrades
Dying like flies all around you.
Don't cry
'Coz it does no good.
It won't bring back the Soldier at your feet.
Time heals all wounds,
So they say.
Can it heal the wounds of war?
The Soldiers in the fox-holes
They start to ponder the sanity of the Government
Who sent them to "fight for their country"
In some foreign land,
When they no longer have legs to stand on
And every day could be their last.
The Mothers who grieve for their Sons
"Killed in Action",
They too know the pain
That War drives home
Only too clearly.
Time heals all wounds,
So they say.
Can it heal the wounds of war?
