This a poem I wrote last year when I was first introduced to writing> PLEASE R&R
The sky is dark and long,
My heart is calm,
The chirping crickets play,
Scorpions dance, dogs bark,
Cats chase rats.
The sound of a plane stops
All the noise, when it is gone
The noise rolls back,
Tree branches sway in the breeze,
Flowers close their blooms,
The boy sitting in the wheelchair sings
About a raccoon dancing under the moon.
Stars sit still, the smell of barbecue ribs
Burning on a grill draws a bobcat near
Moths look for the brightest light,
Mosquitoes look for food,
Cars drive by, smoke rising from them
My loving dog licks my toes
I fall asleep, to the daring sounds
Of an Arizona night.
