Heart is more powerful than the mind
A WISE MIND

A wise mind knows in spite of
Being powerful, smart,
Even greater powers are
Bestowed on a small heart.

A wise mind realizes
That it can calculate,
But all its calculations
Fail before evil fate.

A wise mind can feel also
and not only reason.
It senses things that exist
but cannot be proven.

A wise mind appreciates
Love’s melodious note
Pervades all thought and action,
As Coleridge once wrote:

“All thoughts, all passions, all delights,
Whatever stirs this mortal frame,
All are but ministers of Love,
And feed his sacred flame”.

* Written in abcb 7-6-7-6 format

* The last stanza is borrowed from the poem “Love” written by Samuel Taylor Coleridge (1772-1834),
