Courtly Perspective
Soul relieving catharsis
upon receiving extreme unction
or last rites
cannot remove the perfidy
of the manner
in which the courts
condemned
a woman to suffer
two weeks of living hell;
insisting it was what she wanted.
We treat condemned criminals
with more dignity.
