"Maybe visions of what was/And of what will never be"
I hurt myself to hurt you
And I am the one who bleeds
My flesh is torn by the blade
Blood drips down my arm in beads

In the failing light I see
Things I'd like to wish away
All the things I should've done
All the words I'll never say

And further down the spiral
There are things I can't quite see
Maybe visions of what was
And of what will never be

Memories seen without sound
Silent flashes of bright light
I pretend I don't see them
I pretend I've lost my sight

And my thoughts fall to the ground
And are covered by dead leaves
The Book says Man can be saved
But only if He believes

I open my eyes to see
The soft light of early dawn
But then my eyes close again
And then my life, it is gone
