a poem about new starts in life
Birth of a New Beginning
For all who have felt the joy of new beginnings

Looking down I see lake waves courting land
Looking up I see the sky a giant blue hand
To the West I see the horizon cobalt blue,
kissing Sky blue
And to the East I see the skyline of Toronto
Kissed by the sun to a golden hue
It's the perfect place to give birth to a
new beginning
The contractions so belaboured start
I gasp for air as the pains rock through me
Past memories now seem stronger than reality
Until I smell the fresh untouched earth
And I see the tiny buds of leaves and trees
I feel the rocks, the soil the cliff like
joints of knees all connected, Supporting me
I dare to just Be, The Ummi (mother, of the Self)
Within Me
Now I know that I have given birth to all
that I Can, Will and was Born to Be
