humorous and ironic depiction of a local steak buffet... almost satirical
At the North American Steak Buffet
Men in flannel shirts reign supreme

There they gather
The delegates of the great
Redneck congress of America
Getting real full
Changing nothing about anything
Only to keep aware
That there are still others
Of their kind out there
Trying to get fatter
As best as they can

Amorous glances shoot at you
From behind the sneeze guard glass
From bucktooth flannel daughters
Of the Midwestern dream

In the back teenage stoner employees
Rake through discarded slop
Baked as fuck
Attempting to retrieve bits of neglected cutlery

Everyone is searching for a piece of cow

But there is never one big enough
To satisfy the American dream
