This is a great debut novel by WDC's own elorn! I almost let the horror genre tag steer me away from this one. I'm so glad I didn't. While I can see where Bay's End fits into the category dealing with everyday horrors, I encourage all to give this book a shot!

The strong voice in this coming of age story blew me away. I was drawn in from the first page and didn't want to put the book down. The author does an amazing job of capturing the freedom of a twelve year old boy's words and thoughts when he is among friends and the difference in the company of adults.

The twists and turns in this book will keep you on the edge of your seat. Edward Lorn teases his readers with artful foreshadowing, but even those times when the reader is anticipating what comes next, they're left gasping and breathless by Lorn's gift for description and emotion. There were times I laughed out loud, times I cried, and others where I covered my mouth in disbelief ... holding my breath while I read. I loved how Trey's story yanked me in and held me captive.

I was impressed by this debut novel and am looking forward to future books by Edward Lorn. I highly recommend "Bay's End." You won't be disappointed!
