This is an Inspector Lynley Mystery. It is not based on any book.

Lynley and Sgt. Havers are on holiday in Corwall, which is where Lynley's home mansion is. (He is a titled Earl - the Earl of Asherton) His mother is worried about him as he will not talk about his relationship with his wife Helen. They are separated.

A murder occurs in the neighboring horse farm. At first it looks like suicide, but the forensics soon prove otherwise. The locals ask new Scotland Yard Inspector Lynley and Sgt Barbara Havers to investigate. More murders ensue.

the character of Barbara Havers and how Sharon Small portrays her. I also like Nathaniel Parker a lot - they make a good team. A lot of their back and forth is very amusing.

like I watched an engaging and sometimes funny mystery.

is excellent.

I do not like to give away plots in my reviews. This mystery had me and Mr. Hooves engaged from start to finish. I enjoyed it a lot! I like that they are deviating from the book in order to do more movie mysteries.
