Summary of this Book...
This is a novel about three sisters, who lose their mother at a very young age. They develop a close relationship, leaning on each other through the years.

Then, when they are in their 20's, Vivi Ann, the youngest and most beautiful sister starts a relationship with a man named Luke. The problem is that her oldest sister, the heavy and not as attractive Winona has fallen in love with the same man. The third sister, Aurora, thinks she is happily married with two children. Nothing is as it seems.

A handsome stranger, named Dallas Raintree, comes to town and Vivi falls in love with him, dumping Luke. Dallas is dangerous and all the relationships between the sisters start to crumble when Dallas is accused of murder.

Winona is a successful attorney, but she refuses to help with Dallas' defense because of old resentments. He is convicted of murder and years go by and it becomes clear that his case needs to be revisited because of new evidence.

This is the story of how jealousy and regret can affect the lives and decisions of family members who are torn apart by their own actions and deceit. It takes forgiveness and opening of minds and hearts to get beyond the mistakes of the past.
This type of Book is good for...
anyone who enjoys a good story about sisters and their relationships over time.
I especially liked...
the character of Winona and how she changes for the better. Once she makes the change for the good, things start to fall into place for her.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
read another Kristin Hannah novel. She is quite a talented storyteller.
The author of this Book...
knows how to get the reader to care about her characters.
I recommend this Book because...
it was a fast and entertaining reading experience.
