The book is about an Indian middle-class girl, Karuna who arrived in Mumbai and how she moved upwards in the social circles. She yearned to be counted among the richest but soon was disenchanted by the emptiness of all.

nobody. Either I read this book too late, or the book actually doesn't have anything new. Even the language failed to mesmerize me.

There is a paragraph dedicated to the nails. I guess that was the one paragraph which enticed me to pick up the book to read and that was the only paragraph I liked.

needs to know that there is not always extreme. She shows woman as too catty or too simple. She needs to realize that there is a mid-way too.
