Summary of this Book...
Corrie Swanson convinces her college adviser on the topic of her thesis so she travels to the swank and rich ski-resort town of Roaring Fork, Colorado to do a forensic investigation of the bones of 11 miners that were killed by a bear attack in 1876. Corrie gets herself into trouble and Agent Pendergast arrives in time to help just as a horrific fire destroys one of the massive homes and the entire family inside. It is arson, and Agent Pendergast is asked to help with the investigation.
This type of Book is good for...
Crime, suspense, mystery
I especially liked...
This is a good addition to the Pendergast series. There was a great amount of intricate plot threads and development running throughout the entire book. The authors references to Sherlock Holmes, Conan Doyle, and Oscar Wilde were very interesting and employed well within the story of this book. It kept the action moving and was a very good read.
The author of this Book...
Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child
I recommend this Book because...
This book doesn't go into a lot of backstory about the characters. It might be a good one to pick up out of order and not have the feeling of 'what did I miss' from not reading prior books.
Further Comments...
I've always enjoyed the Preston/Child books. They have a great balance together that draws you into the story. I have always enjoyed the character of Agent Pendergast. It's amazing that I believe everything he gets away with as I am reading these books while still wearing his impeccable black suits, without a wrinkle.
