Summary of this Book...
fter killing a man in a drunken brawl, Detective Inspector Harlan Miller loses everything - his wife, his job, his freedom. Soon after Harlan's prison term is over, the dead man's young son is abducted. When the official investigation hits a dead end, the boy's mother turns in desperation to Harlan - a man so eaten up with guilt he's willing to go to any extremes to find her son. So begins a frantic race against time that leads Harlan to a place darker than anything he experienced as a policeman, and a stark moral choice that'll either allow him to retrieve his life completely or completely destroy whatever's left of it
This type of Book is good for...
If you're a fan of David Peace, Stieg Larsson or Dennis Lehane, this novel will work for you.
I especially liked...
The book is pretty fast pace and has enough twists and turns to keep you entertained
I didn't like...
It took a while to get into, but once I did I flew through the pages
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
I'm tempted to read Cheetham's other books!
The author of this Book...
Ben Cheetham is an award-winning writer and Pushcart Prize nominee. His writing spans the genres, from horror and sci-fi to literary fiction, but he has a passion for dark, gritty crime fiction. His short stories have been widely published in magazines in the UK, US and Australia.

Ben lives in Sheffield, UK, where - when he's not chasing around after his two-year old son - he spends most of his time locked away in his study racking his brain for the next paragraph, the next sentence, the next word.
I recommend this Book because...
It is a pretty fast read - the pages tended to turn themselves.
