Summary of this Book...
This is the first in a five volume set of books about the life of Ernest Hemingway. This one deals with his early life, his military service and wounding in WWI, and his meeting and marrying Hadley Richardson, his first wife.

This type of Book is good for...
anyone interested in the life of Ernest Hemingway and what his early influences were. I was interested to see that he was so moved by Theodore Roosevelt. That influence had never occurred to me before.
I especially liked...
the stuff about Ernest courting Hadley and what a lying jerk he could be. That was interesting to learn.
I didn't like...
the fact that the editing on the Kindle was so sloppy. There were a lot of obvious mistakes and misspellings.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
read the next in the series on my Kindle.
This Book made me feel...
like I know Ernest Hemingway a little better.
The author of this Book...
The author is not overly sympathetic, so far, to Ernest. I hope he doesn't become an Ernest hater type in the future volumes.
I recommend this Book because...
the author spent most of his life writing about another author. I find that fascinating since so far he does not seem to admire Ernest Hemingway's character. The author of these books has passed on, but it seems a shame to spend so much time on someone that you do not really admire.

But maybe in the subsequent volumes he comes to understand Hemingway better. I will read on and see.
