Summary of this DVD...
This DVD holds the sixth season of the hit AMC series. Don't read on if you don't want to know things.

Just as with the 5th season, it took me a few episodes to get interested. I know they build up plots during each season.

In this latest season, Don is bored with his marriage to Megan and begins cheating in a big way with the neighbor wife of a good friend of his. Betty loses all of her weight by the end of the season and she and Don mess around once even though she seems pretty happily married to politician Henry.

Sally discovers her father in an awkward sexual position - in bed with his neighbor and becomes very hostile to him.

The firm merges with Peggy's firm so they (Don and Peggy) are back unhappily working together.

Don seems more than ever on a suicide mission with his philandering and drinking. His health seems to be deteriorating and he has wild mood swings.

At the very ending of the season he takes all three of his kids back to the whore house where he was raised. That is how it ends, with him sort of facing his past.
This type of DVD is good for...
anyone who really likes the show. I really like it, but I get frustrated at times with it.
I especially liked...
the way Betty changed. I have always liked Betty and her daughter, Sally. I also like Ted, the guy Peggy is in love with. He provided a good counterpoint to Don when the firms merged. He is like a decent version of Don.
I didn't like...
Peggy stabbing that guy she lived with. She should have been stronger about throwing him out.
When I finished viewing this DVD I wanted to...
watch Season 7.
The cast of this DVD...
is excellent. They add and take away and it is still seemless. Jon Hamm deserves a great deal of credit because it all rides on him being believable as the suicidally successful Don Draper.
Further Comments...
The whole plotline with Peter Campbell's mother dying like that (overboard on a cruise ship) was very chilling, but it seemes like the easy way out in getting her out of his life. I would have rather seen him facing the difficulties of the relationship head on.
