Summary of this Book...
The second teenage girl within a year has disappeared in the city of Duluth, MN and Lieutenant Jonathan Stride is assigned to investigate the case. He was never able to find the killer of the first girl, the sweet and bubbly Kerry McGrath, but can find no similarities in the disappearance of sexually charged wild child, Rachel Deese. The media wants him to find a serial killer but Stride's investigation doesn't take him to that conclusion.
This type of Book is good for...
This is a very well paced thriller.
I especially liked...
There was a wonderful flow to this book. There were so many twists and turns but it was presented in an unrushed sort of way that made it easy to take in all the clues as they were presented to the characters. All characters were very well developed no matter how large or small their role. Most smaller characters are not given as much care as they have been given in this book.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
I would like to read more from this author, Brain Freeman. I believe this was his first novel!
The author of this Book...
Brian Freeman
I recommend this Book because...
This was a very well plotted thriller. There were times the investigation seemed to come to a stand still as it would happen realistically, yet when new clues are found they are presented in a believable fashion. Characters are rich with depth, flaws, and pasts that bring them together and move them apart.
Further Comments...
I believe this is a first novel for Brian Freeman. He has done an excellent job of plotting a mystery/thriller with many twists and turns that puts the reader into this investigation, court case, and beyond. His characters are so well developed there is no hesitation identifying with them as you tag along while they do their job. Very impressive!
