Summary of this Book...
This is the autobiography of Debbie Reynolds. She was the Jennifer Aniston of the 1950's in that she was married with two kids and a more famous movie star (Elizabeth Taylor) who was her friend ended up in an affair with her husband, famous singer, Eddie Fisher. Elizabeth Taylor's hubby had died in a plane crash and Eddie Fisher was the hubby's best friend. Taylor and Fisher ended up married and then Elizabeth Taylor met Richard Burton and dumped Fisher in the early 1960's. One of the kids that Debbie Reynolds raised is Carrie Fisher from Star Wars.

Ms. Reynolds' life has a lot of adventure and heartache as she was never able to have a happy marriage. Her husbands cheated and the last two stole her moola. She tried to establish a Motion Picture Museaum with all the items she collected over the years, but after many many tries, she had to auction off her collection (It included Marilyn Monroe's Subway Grate dress from The Seven Year Itch).

I learned that she made more movies than I thought and also appeared in some great films, most notably, Singin' in the Rain,' which is considered to be one of the greatest (if not the greatest) musicals of all time.

This book was recommended to me by my good friend Joanne and I got it when Kindle had a deal on it. I enjoyed it and ended up admiring Ms. Reynolds even more than I already did. She has quite a spunky sense of humor about the stupid men she married and about her triumphs and disappointments.

She ended up friends with Elizabeth Taylor, which says a lot about Debbie Reynolds and her kind and forgiving heart.

All things considered, it was a very entertaining read.
This type of Book is good for...
anyone interested in films of the mid-twentieth Century.
