This is the third book in the Ruin/Toxic/Shame trilogy. We have met Lisa in the first two books, and in this one her past catches up to her.
Tristan sets out to make Lisa pay for what she did to his brother. But he soon discovers that life isn't always so black and white.

The characters are really strong (so strong in fact that I felt like I knew what decisions Lisa should have been making! Ha!). The setting was good and the description good. Rachel has a real talent for writing in first person.

This book didn't have the power and magic of the first two. I think for me it was that Lisa made stupid choices, stupid decisions, that I felt were out of character. She went with Tristan when everything in me shouted that Lisa wouldn't have gone. She believed in him, trusted in him, when I thought that Lisa wouldn't have.

I just felt that sometimes the plot was too 'easy' and that sometimes the author took the easy way out and had Lisa make choices that weren't in character because that was the easiest way to advance the plot.

A good read, and I struggled to put the book down, but not as good as the first two.
