There's nothing better than a little bit of magic, mystery, and a friendly ghost in the midst to entice the reader.

Alax Nolan, a scrawny guy who's almost on the verge of drowning himself in liquor, has an accidental encounter with Zoe Hoffman, who makes him think of Betty Boop. While Alex doesn't want to have anything to do with the girl, her cooking entices him into her fold.

A motherly type, Zoe feels the need to protect Alex, while at the same time feed him every morning, as he fixes her grandma's house for her to move into. While she's a bit frightened of him, Alex is terrified of her.

Yet, no matter how much he wishes to stay away from Zoe, his little secret, a ghost attached to him who follows him anywhere, makes him stick around and eventually shows him that certain things in life are worth taking a leap of faith.

If you enjoy romance, I'd recommend this book as well as the entire Friday Harbor series.

I couldn't wait to read the next book in the series.

Lisa, the author, hasn't disappointed a reader yet, and this is another book of hers which should be read.

While I continue reading all her books and enjoy each and every one of them, my favorite series will always be the Wallflower Series, which also connect the Hathaway book into their midst. Nothing better than encountering your previous favorites in other stories.
