Summary of this Book...
Three boys with an unknown destiny which had been revealed to them at the tender age of ten. They didn't ask for it, they had no idea what they would unearth by a simple oath to being blood brothers. That night, their lives changed forever as ancient evil came out to haunt them for the next two decades.

Quinn Black, a writer on the supernatural, comes to town and her first target for her interview, Cal Hawkins of the infamous town Hawkins Hollow. Their immediate attraction is visible and from there she learns almost all there is about the town, the boy, and the ancient evil.

Definitely a romance with a major magical twist to it!
This type of Book is good for...
If you enjoy romance but are bored with the every day of characters taking 300 pages to realize their love for another, and instead are looking for something straight forward with a good twist in a story, this would be the book for you.
I especially liked...
I love the fact that Caleb and Quinn had their sparks flying shortly after the book began. It felt more natural, without the usual plot twists keep characters separate for long periods of time, until they realize their attraction and love for each other.
When I finished reading this Book I wanted to...
Naturally, I grabbed the following book in this trilogy, because it was right there and I couldn't let go of the characters I've gotten to know.
The author of this Book...
This was the first book I've read by Nora Roberts. I've debated about picking it up - new writer and all in my personal collection - but I'm thrilled that I did! I have many more of her books, some are parts of her trilogy series and I'm looking forward to more.
I recommend this Book because...
Like I said, if it's straight romance you're looking for with the usual dilemmas of a relationship, you may want to look somewhere else. However, if you like reading about the supernatural which includes a good romance, friendship and small towns, I would definitely recommend this book for you.
Further Comments...
At first hesitant to read Nora's writing, it took me a while to open this book - the first in its trilogy. I've heard other people tell me how her writing is slow and such, but in the end I wanted to find out for myself whether or not her writing appealed to me. I'm glad I did, because I fell in love with her easy writing and the way she describes relationships. A must read.
