Summary of this DVD...
"Slumdog Millionaire" is rated #6 on WhatCulture.com's 25 Best British Films of the Last Decade. http://whatculture.com/film/25-best-british-films-last-decade?page=21

It's the story of an Indian kid who was raised mostly in the slums and how his life growing up lead him to know the answers on India's "Who Wants to be a Millionaire." It also traces his often turbulent relationship with his brother and his love for a childhood friend as they grow up.

This film is 120 minutes long and rated R in the U.S. They were hoping for a PG-13 rating, but they were out of time and money to fight the rating.
This type of DVD is good for...
Those who like stories with love and action. It's also good for folks who are interested in India.
I especially liked...
I especially liked seeing parts of India I will probably never see. The relationship between Jamal and Latika was also lovely.
This DVD made me feel...
This movie made me happy because I like happy endings. I would have liked to have seen more of the change in the relationship between the brothers, but hey, you can't have everything.
The cast of this DVD...
There were kids of various ages playing Jamal and his brother, Salim. I think they did very well and I enjoyed watching them. I also like that their money was put into a trust for them to receive only if they go to school until they are at least 16. Also, transportation was provided for them to attend school. A lot of children don't finish school, whether they are childhood actors or children in the slums.
I recommend this DVD because...
The acting was wonderful and the story line was sweet and interesting. This film won several Oscars and they were well deserved!
