Summary of this CDs & Vinyl...
This album, which Sheryl Crow recorded in Nashville has fast become my favourite of hers. It goes back to her country roots, and it is what she does best. I know a lot of people said this was a new direction for her, but I don't see that. Yes, "Sheryl Crow" was more rocky-y, and "100 Miles From Memphis" is more soul music, but all of her work has, at least, a faint country undertone. "C'mon C'mon," for example. How is that anything other than country?

So, back to this album. It has a good mix of slow and upbeat songs. There isn't one on the album that I don't like.

The album kicks of with the country-rock song "Shotgun," then takes us on the sexy "Easy" and "Give It To Me." After that, one of my favourites: "We Oughta Be Drinkin'." Very country, with funny lyrics that, I think, most people will relate to. The songs continue to come in a beautiful river of Sheryl Crow's voice.

When I first listened to this album, the song "Waterproof Mascara" made me shed a few tears. It's such a sad lament on the pains of being single mother and having sons who don't understand why they don't have a daddy, like their friends. It's really emotional.

That said, the stand out song on the album, for me, is "Homecoming Queen." It's probably a different choice to most people, but I find the song really sad. It's about a former homecoming queen, who married straight out of high school to a man who was safe, but not passionate, andshe's looking back (at age twenty-eight) and lamenting on how much of her life has been wasted and how she turned out just like her mom; something she had really wanted to avoid. It reminds me of the song "Home" from her "Sheryl Crow" album.

The last song on the album is another emotional one. "Stay At Home Mother" is about children missing their mother when she is away on business. All they want is for her to stay at home.

Before I finish describing the album, I want to say the whole album is sad and emotional songs. For example, "Crazy Aint Original" is a great, tongue in cheek look at reality TV and how everyone wants to be famous for doing nothing. It's funny, with a catchy tune, to boot.
This type of CDs & Vinyl is good for...
Everyone! But I'm slightly biased when I say that. It's good for country music fans and fans of Sheryl Crow. It's good for people who love silky vocals, great melodies and heartbreaking lyrics. It is country, and I know that style isn't popular in the UK. But, it's also pop-py, with some rock. I really do urge everyone to take a listen.
I especially liked...
All of it! I love Sheryl Crow's voice. It's one of the most beautiful I've ever heard. I love the ballads, and the power Crow has to move me to tears, then have me banging my fake drums in the next instance. I love her lyrics. I love the melodies.
I didn't like...
I wouldn't say I didn't like this, but there are only twelve songs on here. I would love some more.
When I finished n/a this CDs & Vinyl I wanted to...
Listen to it again. Actually, after listening to the CD, I put it onto my iPod, then played all Sheryl Crow's albums in a random shuffle. I put the CD in my car and played it every day for over a year. That's how it made me feel.
This CDs & Vinyl made me feel...
Happy. Sad. Nostalgic. It made me feel a connection to Sheryl Crow. The song "Homesick" was one I could relate to a lot. Mostly, it made me feel huge amounts of love for Sheryl Crow.
The n/a of this CDs & Vinyl...
Sheryl Crow. After Karen Carpenter, my favourite female singer of all time. Her voice is so beautiful. It's fragile, it's packed with emotion, but also it's cheeky and fun-loving.

I saw Sheryl Crow live in 2005, and she was incredible. Faultless. Beautiful. I have all her albums and she is a favourite of mine to listen to on my iPod. I love her.
I recommend this CDs & Vinyl because...
It's beautiful. It's rock-y. It has heartbreaking lyrics, and also clever and funny lyrics. The melodies, the guitar playing, the musicality: all amazing.

Listen to her, people! Listen!
