Summary of this Book...
This book presents a model of five dysfunctions that cause teams to fail, provides examples of how each manifests, and offers insights on how to fix them. In addition to the model being explained and a team assessment tool provided, the model is illustrated through a "leadership fable".

The book effectively translates team leadership principles into the workplace.
This type of Book is good for...
Anyone who is part of a dysfunctional team (i.e. pretty much anyone who has a job) and leaders in particular.
I especially liked...
I had to read this for a undergrad class several years ago, and I had to read it again for a grad class. It is a fast read, easy language, and pretty informative. It is also very relatable to anyone who has ever worked as part of a team.
I didn't like...
The fable itself falls into the cheesy "that would never happen quite that way" category at times, but again, it is simply to illustrate how to apply the model, analyze your own team dynamics, and alleviate the dysfunctions. It's definitely not as cheesy as some of these management best sellers!
I recommend this Book because...
It's useful. Many similar types of books are NOT useful, overgeneralize, or teach lessons so ridiculously obvious as to be pointless reads. This book has more substance than those.
Further Comments...
It is impressive that the author had the capacity to create a leader who has flaws. Of course, she makes the right (and difficult) decisions 100% of the time in this book, but that alone takes skill to write.
