Summary of this Book...
This is the story of a group of strangers on a train from Manchester to London. One of them is carrying a rucksack with a bomb inside.

I have to be honest, I was a little disappointed with this book. I don’t understand why the author wrote th many different characters in the third person. It made them a bit disconnected, and I found them to be somewhat flat and two-dimensional. Which is a shame because I expected to connect with them a lot more than I did. When I chose to read this book, I expected to have the same kinds of feelings of empathy and understanding that I had after reading ‘Nineteen Minutes’ by Jodi Picoult. I thought, no matter how terrible Saheel’s actions, the author would offer a little window into his world. But she didn’t.

The middle of the book is the part where I couldn’t put my Kindle down. The immediate aftermath is written clearly and is completely harrowing. I could see and taste the descriptions of the train.

So, all in all, a disappointing read. However, I’m glad I did read it. Parts of it are really good. It’s just the characters who let it down
This type of Book is good for...
It’s a super fast read with an average plot. That’s the best I can say, really.
I especially liked...
The middle part here the author describes the immediate aftermath of Saheel’s actions. Great descriptions of tastes, textures, and sounds.
I didn't like...
The characters were all flat. With no exceptions. For some reason, th author wrote multiple characters in the 3rd person, which gave them a bit of a distance from the. And, although she was acting as an omnipotent narrator, she slipped in the odd word very occasionally that would be one the character used. It made it sound awkward. I just didn’t like the characters.
The author of this Book...
Catch Staincliffe. I’ve never read her before. I’m not sure I will again.
