Summary of this Book...
Amazon Says:
You know you're made for a more fulfilling life. With this book, you’ll know where to start.
You wake up tired. Your to-do list is too long. The commitments―and the laundry―are piling up, but your energy keeps dwindling. You feel like you're simply making it through the days, not living or enjoying any part of them.
In Say Goodbye to Survival Mode, you'll find both practical ideas and big-picture perspective that will inspire you to live life on purpose. As a wife, mother of three, and founder of the wildly successful blog MoneySavingMom.com, Crystal Paine has walked the road from barely surviving to living with intention. With the warmth and candor of a dear friend, she shares what she's learned along the way, helping you:
-feel healthier and more energetic by setting priorities and boundaries
-eliminate stress with savvy management of your time, money, and home
-get more done by setting realistic goals and embracing discipline
-rediscover your passions―and the confidence to pursue them

I Say:
About a third of this book contains some helpful ideas on how to save your sanity while still being a good wife and mom.
Another third is dedicated to cutesy inspirational stories.
The last remaining part reminds the reader that the author is the founder of a "wildly successful" blog so obviously she knows what she's talking about.
This type of Book is good for...
If you're looking for a faith-based self-help book, you may enjoy this one. Or at least a third of it.
I especially liked...
Half of the personal stories appealed to me because of the way they were written was like an aunt passing on some down-home truths because she had been there and understood. There are a few good bits of advice to read after you pull out some of the fluff.
I didn't like...
Not long after the author tries to connect with the reader by offering a look at her own life she then continuously points out how wonderful her life is now. That was when I felt like the motivation for this book was to promote all of the author's other endeavors.
This Book made me feel...
Now here's the problem I have with this book-
I did find some of it helpful at first. But as I started to feel a spark of hope, the author quickly snuffed it out by droning on about how perfect her life is now. I felt like that's not an average success story and since I'm a pretty average broad my quest to move past survival mode will remain unfulfilled.
Further Comments...
I came across this book at my local Dollar Tree. Good thing, because I can't imagine paying the MSRP of twenty bucks for a book written by a woman (excuse me, told to a ghostwriter) that has a blog called "Money Saving Mom". Of course, I had no clue when I picked up the book. The title caught my eye and it was a buck. Good enough for me!
